Subjecting female children to commercial sexual exploitation is a dangerous epidemic in the United States with the highest numbers of trafficked children in California and Texas. Children are lured and groomed online, sold by their parents, or picked up as runaways. They are subject to traumatic abuse which has long-term physical and mental health consequences.
Using trauma-informed care and providing safety and stability when a child is recovered from exploitation can be effective and help place our young ladies on a path to a productive and rewarding future.
Hope Rising works closely with very special foster families to nurture and guide these girls from being survivors to becoming thrivers in the context of a loving Christian home. We aspire to inspire our girls academically and to help them negotiate a path to higher education and professional success on their terms.
