Chief Executive Officer
Amy Leggio joined Hope Rising as its chief executive officer in April 2021. Amy is a Certified Fundraising Executive with decades of management experience and extensive experience in Board governance. She will be laser focused on significantly increasing the service footprint in Texas for the foster care of minors who survive sex trafficking and on opening the doors of the New Caney Stabilization and Assessment Center, a unique therapeutic entity that will also serve the minor survivors of sex trafficking.
Amy is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Cristy Cormier joined the Hope Rising team in April 2021 as Executive Assistant to the CEO. She brings with her 20 plus years of Executive Administrative, Management and Customer Service experience. Most of Cristy’s experience has been in the Oil & Gas industry, so she is excited to take on this journey in a new field. When Cristy is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2-year-old son, Lincoln. Cristy is originally from Louisiana and loves the LSU Tigers!
Case Manager, Foster Home Development
Ashley earned her Masters of Social Work degree from UT - Arlington in 2019. Ashley has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of foster care during her six years in the Texas Foster Care System as a child. Ashley also has experience as a caregiver and joined Hope Rising because she recognized it as an agency that cares about the most vulnerable children and truly desires to offer them a path to a bright and happy future
Shandra Reed currently holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and is pursing a Master’s in Social Work from Walden University to become a Licensed Clinician. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She loves to travel, cook, and try new things. She worked for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services for a total 7 years, starting off in Austin and then moving home to Houston, Texas. She has experience with working for a private therapy practice, Austin Child Guidance Center and The AIDS foundation of Houston. Prior to her career in Social Work, she worked for the Vice President of Legal Affairs at UT Austin.
